Exams, Cleaning & X-Rays

Dr. Lehman provides advice on proper brushing, flossing, cleaning, healthy gums, and other dental care. It's ideal to visit your dentist every 6 months or twice a year, or when you are experiencing pain or discomfort. Certainly, once a year is the absolute minimum.

Exam & X-Rays

It has become so commonplace. A visit to the dentist entails a manual inspection of your teeth with some poking and prodding. After that, the dentist will often ask for a set of x-rays for your records or a particular x-ray of a potential problem area such as a cavity.

Cleaning

An important part of that preventive care is a thorough dental cleaning. This can also be called scaling and root planing. This means that the dentist or hygienist removes plaque and tartar buildup around the teeth. A deeper cleaning will go into the in the gums, smooth out teeth roots, and rid you of bacterial toxins. It will depend upon your situation which type of cleaning will be recommended.
